Property Rights; Land, Forest and Water Management

Objective:

To ensure equitable access to natural resources including land, waterbodies, forests etc. and property rights of marginalized population and promote appropriate land reformation with transparent and modernized land management system.

Strategies:

  • Identification and recovery of Khasland and waterbodies
  • Policy advocacy for land law reformation
  • Identification and develop data base of actual landless
  • Collaboration with government for distributing Khasland and waterbodies to the landless and marginalized farmer.
  • Promote land digitization and capacity building to relevant authorities by the help of government

Major actions:

  • Institution building of landless and marginalized farmer groups
  • Capacity building on claiming public land and water bodies based on existing laws and procedure
  • Collaboration with different stakeholders related to land distribution, i.e Khasland Settlement and Management Committee at Upazila and District level.
  • Legal aid for recovery and land retention
  • Capital support and capacity building for land utilization
  • Research, draft policy formulation and advocacy with local and national level rigorously.
  • Software development and its management
  • Networking and alliance with national and international civil society actors.
